Branden Boatwright, FNP helped the school nurses of Oconee County kick off the school year in August 2016 with an in service to discuss Childhood Asthma.
We had all the school nurses for the Oconee County School Distric in attendance. Branden discussed the different stages of asthma and what to do for each stage. He also discussed triggers for asthma and how to help students avoid them. The nurses were also instructed to always feel like they can reach out to the child’s primary care provider and the child’s parent in cases where a child may be having a compliance issue or the child may not be responding well to their medications. Our goal was to provide education to the nurses so they may feel confident in their care for the children and to also thank them for the service that they provide to the many students of Oconee County.
Great job Branden Boatwright and the School Nurses of Oconee County!
